Break Free from

Emotional Eating

Understand your emotions. Reclaim your relationship with food.

If you find yourself turning to food when you're overwhelmed, lonely, stressed, or just plain exhausted, you're not alone. Emotional eating often has little to do with food and everything to do with unmet needs, unprocessed emotions, and the pressure to hold everything together.

This self-paced course gently guides you through evidence-based tools to help you:

  • make sense of your emotional triggers,

  • soothe yourself without food,

  • And finally, stop the cycle of guilt and shame.

šŸ’» Includes 4 CBT-based modules, supportive workbooks, and bonus resources to help you heal from the inside out.

🌱 What You'll Gain on This Journey

This isn’t just about managing your eating habits — it’s about understanding why you eat the way you do and gently changing your relationship with food, your emotions, and yourself.

By the end of this course, you'll be able to:

āœ… Recognise emotional hunger before it takes over – Learn to spot the signs of emotional vs. physical hunger so you can pause before turning to food.
āœ… Name and validate your feelings – Build emotional literacy so you can meet your needs without judgment or avoidance.
āœ… Break the cycle of guilt and shame – Stop beating yourself up after eating and learn to treat yourself with compassion instead.
āœ… Respond instead of react – Develop new coping tools that honour your feelings without relying on food to soothe them.
āœ… Shift from self-sabotage to self-care – Create a self-care system that actually works for your real life, not just the ā€˜ideal’ one.
āœ… Change the story you tell yourself about food and emotions – Use CBT-based exercises to rewrite unhelpful beliefs keeping you stuck.
āœ… Understand the root of your emotional eating – Get curious about your triggers so you can meet your needs more directly.
āœ… Feel more in control around food without restriction – Reclaim your autonomy without rules, shame, or willpower.

šŸ’¬ Who This Course is For

This course is a perfect fit if you:

  • You turn to food when you're stressed, anxious, overwhelmed, or just need a moment of relief — and then feel guilty afterwards.

  • You describe yourself as a ā€œcomfort eaterā€ or ā€œemotional eater,ā€ but no matter how hard you try, the cycle keeps repeating.

  • You often eat in secret, late at night, or when no one’s watching — and carry shame about it.

  • You’ve tried willpower, diets, or distraction techniques, but none of them get to the heart of why you eat the way you do.

  • You’re tired of feeling out of control around food, and even more tired of beating yourself up about it.

  • You want to feel calm, confident, and in charge of your choices again, without relying on restriction or self-blame.

This course is a safe space to explore what’s really going on beneath the surface, so you can begin healing the emotional roots of your relationship with food — one gentle, powerful step at a time.

Meet Your Coach

Therapy workbooks designed by Karen Lynne Oliver

Hi, I’m Karen, a former social worker retraining as a therapist specialising in disordered eating and body image.

I understand how exhausting it is to exist in a society that tells us to be at war with our bodies and fixate on our weight and appearance. Many of us worry about weight management, nutrition, and exercise in the pursuit of health. But in a culture that stigmatises bigger bodies and discriminates against people based on appearances, our health-promoting behaviours can easily slide into obsessive weighing and body-checking, excessive exercising and eating disorders.

I help clients recognise disordered eating and exercise patterns, heal from diet culture, improve their body image, and teach them the psychological tools for coping with distressing thoughts and emotions. Many of my clients have a long history of dieting. Some struggle with binge eating and other disordered eating patterns, and others want to learn how to accept their bodies.

YOU HAVE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE IF YOU WANT TO MAKE PEACE WITH FOOD AND YOUR BODY.

People I’ve Helped

  • "I haven't weighed myself in weeks, I just don't care about that number anymore because I'm enjoying my life, eating food I actually like and doing yoga too...and you know what? I feel damn good about myself for the first time in years! I cannot thank you enough, Karen!"

    Coaching programme client, December 2017

  • "The emotional eating module was LIFE CHANGING for me! I never realised that comfort eating was benefiting me on some level but it all makes sooo much sense for me now. I've been working really hard the last few months to tune into my emotions and pick apart my thoughts to figure out what I really need (it isn't wine - who knew! haha!). The worry journal exercise has stuck with me the most, it's been so helpful, thank you so much for all your help and the videos and workbooks!)"

    Coaching programme client, May 2018

  • "I've just got back from a restaurant with my hubby. I thought about what you said about 'unconditional permission to eat' and I ordered exactly what I wanted on the menu (no salad this time!) [...] It was just amazing like I could actually listen to my belly and stop eating without the mental battle and wanting to binge."

FAQs

šŸ’¬ What if I’ve tried everything before and nothing has worked?
You’re not alone — many people who take this course have felt the same way. The difference here is that we’re not trying to fix you with more willpower or food rules. We’re going deeper to understand the why behind emotional eating, with tools grounded in CBT and self-compassion, not shame.

🧠 Do I need to have a diagnosed eating disorder to take this course?
Not at all. This course is designed for anyone who struggles with emotional or comfort eating, whether occasionally or frequently, and wants to understand and change the pattern in a supportive, shame-free way. If you do have a diagnosed eating disorder, this course can complement therapy, but it isn’t a substitute for one-on-one clinical treatment.

šŸ“š How long will it take to complete the course?
The course is self-paced. Most people complete it in 4–6 weeks, but there’s no rush. You’ll have lifetime access, so you can return to the materials whenever you need support.

šŸ’» What format is the course in?
You’ll get access to four core modules, each including video lessons, downloadable workbooks, reflective prompts, and exercises. Everything is hosted in a private course platform that you can log into anytime.

šŸ“¦ When do I get the bonuses?
Immediately after purchase! You’ll receive your downloadable Stress & Anxiety Workbook on the course dashboard, along with your exclusive discount code for 40% off the Intuitive Eating course.

šŸ› ļø Will this course help me stop binge eating?
This course isn’t a binge eating treatment program, but many people find that addressing the emotional drivers behind their eating helps reduce the intensity and frequency of binges. If you struggle with binge eating disorder, I recommend using this course alongside support from a therapist trained in eating disorders.
